Contractor, who had completed her university degree and auditioned at an open call for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 performances of Pericles. Contractor accepted an invitation to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. There are only eight males and four females accepted for a 20-week intensive course in the classical theatre. Contractor received a guaranteed spot for the upcoming season of productions and was offered the role as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
